Bronx, New York (October 18, 2013) – Today, BOOM!Health launched a new website at www.BOOMHealth.org and iPhone app during its inaugural strategic planning retreat at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Jose Davila, president and chief administrative officer of BOOM!Health states, “As nonprofits, we are faced with a big challenge when redesigning our website. We need to clearly communicate our mission, have a clear call to action, and engage our audience.”

“We think that we have accomplished our goal,” states Alan Goldberg, who serves on the BOOM!Health board of directors and is a producer with CBS 60 Minutes Sports. Goldberg explains, “We have developed a responsive website and iPhone app for BOOM!Health that clearly frames our work as solution-oriented and mission driven. When you leave our new website, you know what we do and how you can help.”

Robert Cordero, president and chief program officer of BOOM!Health says, “Upon landing, you are greeted with a modern design that uses lots of colorful space and a well-designed slider to highlight BOOM!Health’s most important initiatives.” As you scroll down, you are greeted with a dark, almost foreboding map that defines and highlights the social problems that BOOM!Health is confronting, including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, drug overdose, hunger and homelessness. Visitors are then presented with BOOM!Health’s solutions on a pinwheel, such as access to health care, pharmacy, prevention, housing placement and other key services provided by the $12 million agency at three locations in the Bronx. Finally, as you reach the end of the page, you are provided with very clear calls to actions – Volunteer, Donate, and Advocate.
